Icons

Post by pjcard » Tue Jan 26, 2010 11:14 am

Hi Again,

Where are the icons/images for the address book list stored? I've opened the exe and dll's in a resource editor, but it only shows the app icons and I can't see any external files they could be loaded from. Reason I ask is that I use my monitor on a very low brightness, which makes the grey icon look like the green, and I was attempting to tweak it.

Thanks
Paul

Hey Paul,

all of the images are embedded within the executable. .NET stores its data in a funky format so can't be edited with a resource editor, unfortunately.

I was planning on adding theming support (mainly because it would make the executable smaller) at some point, but I'll bring it forward so things like what you want to do will be easily doable. A new release should be available within the next few days, depending on how extensive the theming will be.

Thanks, that'll be handy :)

For anyone wondering, http://fortheloveofcode.wordpress.com/2 ... -assembly/ shows how to get to the resources, but the editor suggested doesn't seem to allow for extracting of the bitmaps - it only shows them :(
