Broblem with 2 network cards

Post by jolo1701 » Sun Feb 13, 2011 2:17 pm

I have a computer at home that i use as a server. It has two network cards, one connected directly to the Internet, the other one connected to my local LAN. I used another WOL-program on a previous installation with Windows XP Professional on that machine. When i tried the same program on my newer installation of 64-bit Windows 7 Professional, it didn't work. I then searched the net and found Wake On Lan EX 2. After installing it i found out that it too didn't work. Both programs installed on another machine with 64-bit Windows 7 Professional, using only one network card, works as supposed. The problem seems to be related to using two network cards. If i temporarily disable the WAN network, both programs work. The strange thing is that it did work on the old XP installation. Nothing related to hardware has changed.

I remember using some program (don't remember it's name) where (in it's settings) one could change the NIC to use. Can this be done in Wake On Lan EX 2?
