64 BIT

Post by admin0389 » Thu Jul 15, 2010 11:51 am

How did you get WOL working on 64 bit machines?

Before I ran your software WOL in my program (Using AFX Sockets) would only work on 32bit systems. The same (32 bit only policy) was found with at least three other free programs I had access too.

After I run your software (which worked straight away) now my program, and the 3 third party apps work? :S

Am I going mad or did you move a dll, change a system permission, modify the registry?

Fantastic program BTW! Very well done! :)

Hi there,
How did you get WOL working on 64 bit machines?
It doesn't do anything special. It just creates a packet and then sends it over UDP - all pretty standard stuff.
Am I going mad or did you move a dll, change a system permission, modify the registry?
Nothing like that; WoLEX doesn't write to anywhere except for its own directory.

It's either coincidence, or there was a knock-on effect from WoLEX in Windows (maybe a firewall?) somewhere. But, either way, I have no idea at all. :)
Fantastic program BTW! Very well done!
Thanks! :D
