Comica v1.20 Alpha 2

Post by BootBlock » Tue Jan 15, 2013 4:28 pm

Comica v1.20 Alpha 2 has been released for testing.

Finally, a new version. As with Alpha 1, the plugins and such are incomplete, but thankfully the "Download New Comics Marked as New" infinite-loop bug has been fixed. Please report any/all bugs you encounter that are not listed.

The Comica Wiki has been updated with new command-line parameters that this release has added.

Usage
Extract the archive to a location of your choice - preferably not over your existing installation. Once done, ensure a previous version of Comica isn't running (you should be notified if one is) and double-click on the Comica.exe file. All going well, it should run as normal.

This version now requires Microsoft .NET 4.5 and Windows Vista SP or above. This requirement is present due to shifting all of my projects over to the new framework.

Download: Comica v1.20 Alpha 2 [1.6MB, zip]

Code: Select all

v1.20 Alpha 2; 15th January, 2013.
  - NOTE!: Comica now requires .NET 4.5 and Windows Vista SP2 or above.
  - Added: Hide Adult Comics to the Settings - Comics area.
  - Added: Report As Incomplete to the comics context menu.
  - Added: ViewPreviousComic and ViewNextComic shortcut actions.
  - Added: Pressing Stop during comic update checking now stops the check.
  - Fixed: Infinite loop when downloading new comics if an error was encountered.
  - Fixed: Download indicator didn't always disappear when a download had an error.
  - Other: Improved the Settings - Input - Actions dropdown list.
  - Other: Improved update checking code.
  - Other: Rewritten start-up parameter handling.
  - Other: Save Log in the LogViewer plugin wasn't defaulted to the Text filetype.
  - Other: Decreased start-up times, especially on multi-core machines.
  - Added: New commandline parameters. See the Comica wiki (Help menu).

Hey AZNsupermarket,

I've just done a few tests and the only way I could get a crash (like yours) was to have just .NET 4 installed. Comica requires 4.5 of the framework, which you can get from the Microsoft site here.

Let me know if that fixes it.

EDIT: You were right, I had .Net 4.0 installed. I installed 4.5 and it works fine.
